The Boy on the Wooden Box

The book I read was The Boy on the Wooden Box by Leon Leyson. This book is 240 pages long. something that you mightnot know about Leyon Leson is that he is a holocaust survivor.

Leon Leyson (born Leib Lezjon) was only ten years old when the Nazis invaded Poland and his family was forced to relocate to the Krakow ghetto. With incredible luck, perseverance, and grit, Leyson was able to survive the sadism of the Nazis, including that of the demonic Amon Goeth, commandant of Plaszow, the concentration camp outside Krakow. Ultimately, it was the generosity and cunning of one man, a man named Oskar Schindler, who saved Leon Leyson’s life, and the lives of his mother, his father, and two of his four siblings, by adding their names to his list of workers in his factory – a list that became world renowned: Schindler’s List.

In fact, he might be the best hypnotist the world has seen in a very long time. You would think Jax would be happy about this. But really? It’s ruining his life. Jax thinks life might be getting a little better when a very rich, very powerful man asks him to help out with something. The reward will be great. And the price — well, the price is that Jax starts taking on the man’s memories. And some of them are pretty deadly.

The Hypnotists

The book I read was The Hypnotists by Gordon Korman. The book is 240 pages long. One thing you might not know about Gordon Korman is that he has written several books in the 39 Clues series.

Jackson Opus, or Jax, had always had an affect on people. Call it what you want, but Jax seemed to command people’s presence wherever he went. At least that is what Jax’s best friend, Tommy, would always tell him. At any rate, Jax didn’t think much about it and considered himself just a lucky and well-liked kid. Jax’s effect on other people really didn’t bother him much until one fateful day that would change his life forever. When his school goes on a field trip to see a local Vaudeville show that featured a hypnotist and Jax somehow convinces the hypnotist himself to believe he was a chicken, Jax can’t shake the feeling that perhaps he has some control over people that he didn’t know about.

Fuzzy Mud

The book I read was Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar. This book was 281 pages long. One thing you may not know about this author is that he is wrote the book Holes, in which won the new berry medal.  If you liked Holes, you will also like Fuzzy Mud. My favorite conflict in the book is when Tamaya throws suspicious mud into the antagonist [chad] face.

First, the main characters get introduced. Tamaya, Chad and Marshal. Then, one day after school they decide to take a shortcut through the woods. But, they got lost! Then, Marshal went on top of the rocks to search for the way back. Tamaya almost stepped into suspicious mud. Then, she picked up the mud to throw it at chad’s face. Read Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar to know what happens next.

The Hunger Games

The book I read was The Hunger Games by Susan Collins. this book is 374 pages long. Something you might  not know about it is that there are two sequels to the book and 4 movies. I love when Peeta and Katniss team up to kill the rest of the tributes because even though Peeta was badly hurt they still pulled through and won.

Shing as the arrow fly’s into the moose killing it almost instantly. In what was once North America, the Capitol of Panem maintains its hold on its 12 districts by forcing them each to select a boy and a girl, called Tributes, to compete in a nationally televised event called the Hunger Games. Every citizen must watch as the youths fight to the death until only one remains. District 12 Tribute Katniss Everdeen has little to rely on, other than her extraordinary hunting skills with a bow and arrow and sharp instincts, in an arena where she must weigh survival against love. Yeah me neither but Vanessa (13) & Buzz (11) from Dad — plus Carter (11) and Jane (9) from Mom have. It was supposed to be a vacation – and a chance to get to know each other better. But when a massive storm sets in without warning, four kids are shipwrecked alone on a rocky jungle island in the middle of the South Pacific. No adults. No instructions. Nobody to rely on but themselves. Can they make it home alive? Read Stranded by Jeff Probst and Chris Tebbetts.
